What's On Barcelona: 1st - 3rd May

Good morning Barcelona! ¿Qué tal?

Last night we hosted our first What’s On Barcelona Dinner Club, where small groups of strangers were matched for dinner by a personality quiz, and didn’t feel like strangers for long.

Thanks to everyone who came. The feedback’s been great, and we’ll be running another one later in May.

If you’re looking for a last minute plan and you’re a fan of heavy metal, Motörhead are playing at Razzmatazz tonight. You can still get tickets here.

As for this weekend, here’s What’s On.

1. Diada de Sant Pollastre – Poblenou’s “Chicken Festival”

What’s On: One of the more quirky local festivals takes place this Saturday, built around a neighbourhood legend involving chickens (pollastre) that supposedly saved locals from a fire by waking them up and helping them escape.

Expect a playful mix of theatre, parades and classic Catalan traditions, including a tongue-in-cheek procession, a homemade cart race, and a correfoc (where people run through the streets with fireworks).

📅 When: Saturday 2nd May, from 5:30pm
📍 Where: Plaça Prim (Poblenou)

For more info see here →

2. Croiss&Fest – Croissant Festival at Poble Espanyol

What’s On: A croissant festival is taking over Poble Espanyol this weekend, bringing together some of Barcelona’s top bakeries for three days of all things croissant.

Expect both sweet and savoury creations, plus the chance to vote for the best croissant in the city. There’ll also be live music, DJs and food workshops throughout the day.

On the subject of croissants, if you haven’t had a chocolate croissant from Sacha in Sarria, then you haven’t lived.

📅 When: Friday until Sunday, 11am–10pm
📍 Where: Poble Espanyol

fatjocial: Not Your Typical Marketing Conference [AD]

If you're in Barcelona on June 12th, put this in your calendar 👀

fatjocial is a small, curated marketing event on a rooftop. ~100 people: mostly marketers, founders, and agency owners.

Short, sharp talks on what's actually working right now in growth, AI, content, SEO and socials. And then drinks with the whole city in view 🍹

No booths. No salesy stuff. No awkward forced networking where you stand in a corner pretending to check your phone. Just good sessions, real conversations, and a proper Barcelona summer evening.

Oh, and 100% of ticket revenue goes to charity. So you're doing something good while having a great time 💚

📅 When: Friday 12th June 12:00 until 22:00
📍 Where: The Social Hub (Poblenou)
