What's On Barcelona: 26th - 28th June

Bon dia!
I hope you’re having a good week and enjoyed Sant Joan!
Did you manage to catch a poem from a helicopter last weekend? One actually hit me in the face while I was filming, which I guess was the universe telling me to live in the moment. I uploaded a few clips of the spectacle to IG if you wanted to take a look.
There’s lots to get through for this weekend, but if you’re near Casa Batlló today, you can chat with a life sized 3D Gaudí avatar between 3pm and 6pm.
As for the weekend here’s What’s On.

P.S. Thank you to everyone who messaged after last week’s email when I asked for testimonials/feedback, l have read them all and will get back to you when I can :)

Catalonia Beyond Fuet: Pride, Rights and Equality [AD]

June is Pride Month around the world, but in Catalonia the celebration has a special meaning. Did you know that one of the first major LGBTQI+ demonstrations in Spain took place in Barcelona on 26 June 1977? Thousands of people marched down La Rambla demanding freedom & equality, just a few years after the end of the dictatorship.
Since then, Catalonia has become a pioneer in LGBTQI+ rights. Same-sex civil partnerships were recognised in 1998, adoption rights followed in 2005, and in 2014 Catalonia passed one of Spain’s first comprehensive laws to protect LGBTQI+ people and fight discrimination.
Last year, a new law strengthened those protections even further. You can read this year's Pride manifesto here. 2026 Pride Manifesto (English).
Here’s some vocabulary you may need: Orgull (Pride), Diversitat (Diversity), Drets (Rights), Igualtat (Equality), Manifestació (Demonstration), Estimar (To love).
If you're looking for soundtracks to your Pride celebrations, here are LGBTQI+ icons & allies from the Catalan music scene: Fades (they have Mallorca's accent!) & Svetlana.
