What's On Barcelona: 4th - 6th September

Bon dia!

There’s no fewer than 7 neighbourhood festivals this weekend, which means, among other things, castellers (human towers).

I’ve always found them a bit mad to be honest (obviously in a good way). I wasn't allowed too far up a tree as a kid. Here, they’re being stacked three storeys high on top of a load of adults.

Always good to see kids with hobbies.

Anyway as for this weekend. Here’s what’s on!

Catalonia Beyond Fuet: Start September with Some Catalan [AD]

Bon dia! Com han anat les vacances?

September is here, and it's time to get back into the rhythm of work (and school!). To help you ease back in, here's some basic Catalan vocabulary for "tornada a l'escola" and "tornada a l'oficina":

la motxilla – the backpack
el llibre – the book
el quadern – the notebook
el llapis – the pencil
l'horari – the schedule
la reunió – the meeting
l'agenda – the planner/agenda
l'ordinador – the computer
el correu electrònic – the email
benvinguts/des – welcome (back)

Whether you're heading back to class or to the office, a fresh start is a great excuse to practice a bit more Catalan every day! If you want to keep building your vocabulary, check out the Catalan courses offered here in Barcelona.

Bona tornada a tothom! 🍂
