Catalonia Beyond Fuet: A Cool Escape into Catalan Cinema [AD]

July in Barcelona means one thing, heat. And what better excuse to escape the sun than stepping into the cool, dark calm of a cinema?
This month, we're pointing you towards the Filmoteca de Catalunya, a gem tucked in the Raval neighbourhood where you can watch films in their original version with Catalan subtitles, perfect for practising the language while staying fresh.
Two things worth checking out right, the exhibition Feminismes fílmics: 1976-2026, a look at 50 years of feminist filmmaking that's both visually striking and thought provoking. If you're in the mood for something lighter, the screening cycle Tu i jo, què? Comèdies romàntiques has romantic comedies curated with real taste.
Vocabulari del mes — fruits you'll find at every mercat this July:
🟠 Meló cantalup — cantaloupe
🍑 Nectarina — nectarine
🟤 Albercoc — apricot
🍉 Síndria — watermelon
🔴 Gerds — raspberries
