What's On Barcelona: November Edition

Bon dia!
Welcome to the November edition of What's On Barcelona!
We've put together a roundup of some of the biggest and best events happening across the city this month, so you can plan ahead and make the most of November.
There are a few things we'd have loved to include, like the city's ice skating rinks, but the dates haven't been announced yet.
Don't worry though, we'll keep you updated in our usual Thursday newsletters as more events are announced, from Christmas markets and neighbourhood festivals to traditional Catalan celebrations, correfocs and castellers.

It's Mushroom Season in Catalonia! 🍄 [AD]

Autumn in Catalonia means one thing for many locals: mushroom season!
Every year, people head into the forests in search of wild mushrooms, a tradition known as anar a buscar bolets (going mushroom picking).
You'll also start seeing more varieties appearing on restaurant menus and at local markets. So, if you've ever wondered what all those different mushrooms are called, here are four Catalan words worth knowing:
Rossinyol — Chanterelle, a golden-yellow mushroom with a delicate, slightly fruity flavour.
Rovelló — Saffron milk cap, an orange-coloured mushroom that's particularly popular grilled.
Xampinyó — Button mushroom, the familiar variety you'll find in supermarkets.
Camagroc — Yellowfoot mushroom, a small, delicate mushroom often used in rice dishes and stews.
That's four new words to help you navigate the markets this autumn. And next time you spot rovellons on a restaurant menu, you'll know exactly what you're ordering!
